We watch companies that crush, mill, plant, and feed - names like Presco, Okomu, cocoa processors, livestock-related listings, and a short global agri set. We do not offer Apple, Tesla, or a search box that pretends we licensed every exchange on earth.
Investors who care about Nigerian food still look at listed processors. Ignoring them would make AgriStock look like we do not know how capital already talks about palm and cocoa. Putting them on a second desk, clearly labelled, keeps the warehouse lot from being polluted by equity folklore.
The live tape in the app refreshes on an interval. Quotes may be live where a market-data key covers a symbol. Many NGX agri names are catalogue until a licensed local feed exists. That sentence is not small print. It is the product.
Alerts exist so you can watch a name without staring. Alerts are not a broker order. Soft launch does not include "buy Presco with one tap as if we were your stockbroker". If that ever changes, it will be because licence and clearing exist - not because a landing page got excited.
Plantation and mill names (palm, rubber-adjacent stories that still sit in an agri conversation) are businesses with land, labour, and export or domestic offtake. Their share price is not the price of a jerrycan in Mile 12.
Cocoa processors live or die on beans, working capital, power, and whether the line runs. A cocoa lot in a warehouse, if we list one, is still beans. Do not average the two in your head.
Livestock and feeds are one step away from maize lots. The company might be well run or not. The grain in the store is a different claim.
A few international agri names can appear when the data vendor covers them. They are there for context - fertiliser, traders, food processors - not because AgriStock is becoming a US brokerage. Nigeria remains the home market. Naira remains the wallet.
If a global name prints and an NGX name sits on last catalogue, that is data coverage, not a ranking of which company is "more real".
Search is biased toward the two desks we actually have. Crop language should route you toward lots. Ticker language should route you toward listed names. If you type a random US tech name, you should not fall into a fake quote. That is a feature.
Licensed brokers and NGX members exist for full-market trading. AgriStock is not competing on "every stock in Nigeria". We focus on warehouse-backed farm lots plus a curated agri company watch. If you need a full brokerage, use a licensed brokerage.
