Presco and Okomu — plantations in public

These are the names Nigerians already use when they mean “listed palm / plantation agri”. They have land, mills, labour, and reports. Their share price is a company price. A jerrycan in a market is a different price. A warehouse lot in CPO, if we list one, is a third object.

If you buy the thesis “Nigeria will keep eating oil”, you still have to choose: equity in a planter-miller, or units in a store. AgriStock will not average them for you on a dashboard and call it simplicity.

Quotes may be catalogue on NGX until a licensed feed is in place. A stale print labelled as such is professionalism. A green arrow on a guess is not.

Cocoa processors — factories, working capital, beans

A cocoa company can be quiet while beans are expensive, loud while the line is down, or both. Governance and power matter. A cocoa lot, separately, is inventory. FTN-style names belong on the tape so that origin is not only a farmer story. They do not replace a bag count.

International cocoa futures are a weather system around these businesses. They are not a mark-to-market for a Nigerian warehouse unless the contract says so.

Livestock and feeds — one step from maize lots

Feeds companies live on grain and offtake. Livestock listings live on animals and disease. Maize lots live on bags. Three desks in the economy; two on AgriStock (lots vs listed). Keep the maize lot out of the feeds quote in your head.

Other NGX agri-adjacent names

The product may include additional Nigerian agri names as the universe file is maintained. The rule is the same: if it is on listed agri, it is a company watch. If it is on commodities, it is a lot. Search should not dump you into a random bank or telco because someone typed a letter.

Global agri — context, not a US brokerage

Fertilizer, traders, packaged food, farm equipment — a short global set can print when the vendor covers it. That can make the tape look “more alive” than NGX catalogue names. Do not rank prestige by refresh rate. Rank by whether you understand the cashflows.

Naira is still the wallet. Global names are still not the reason AgriStock exists. They are a window so you are not farming in the dark.
